Sash named BigTen Defensive player of the week
Oskaloosa native Tyler Sash is the Big Ten's Defensive Player of the Week.

Sash, a safety, was already having a good game with eight tackles when he pulled off the second-biggest play of the game: An interception on the Penn State 15-yard line with only a couple of minutes left in the game.

Iowa (5-4, 2-3) returns home Saturday to face undefeated No. 2/3/3 Penn State (9-0, 5-0). Game time is 2:37 p.m. (CST) in Kinnick Stadium (70,585). The game is sold out.

Big Ten Network to stream more than 100 events at no charge for fans
The Big Ten Network is launching a streaming initiative that will include more than 100 events this year and will nearly double the number of women's basketball games available to fans. The majority of games will be streamed with the assistance of the Big Ten universities through their in-arena video boards and accessing their local radio calls, and will be streamed live at BigTenNetwork.com at no cost to fans.

Single game men's basketball tickets on sale today
Single-game tickets for the non-conference home games of Coach Todd Lickliter's 2008-09 University of Iowa men's basketball team including tickets for games against intrastate rivals Northern Iowa and Iowa State will go on sale Monday (Nov. 3), the UI Athletics Ticket Office has announced.

Iowa plays eight games in Carver-Hawkeye Arena against non-Big Ten Conference opponents in November and December beginning with the 2008-09 season opener Friday, Nov. 14, against Charleston-Southern.
